Global Table Search

We’re excited to introduce the Global Table Search feature in wpDataTables 6.6! This powerful addition allows you to search across multiple tables on a single page effortlessly. Whether you have numerous datasets or various tables, the Global Table Search feature enables you to filter results quickly and efficiently.

With just a single search, you can now find the information you need from all tables on the page, saving you time and enhancing your data management experience. This feature is designed to make your workflow smoother and more intuitive, ensuring you have all the data you need at your fingertips.

Additionally, the search field is fully customizable. You can style it to appear as a button or change its colors using simple HTML and CSS, allowing you to seamlessly integrate it with your website’s design. If you want to know more about this feature, check our documentation page about the Global page search shortcode.

Unique DB Names

We’re pleased to introduce a highly-requested feature in wpDataTables 6.6: the ability to customize your database by choosing unique names for your tables directly through the user interface.

Previously, naming tables in wpDataTables was limited and less flexible, which could make database organization more challenging, especially when working with a large number of tables and different datasets. Users often had to rely on generic or automatically assigned names, which could lead to confusion and make searching more difficult.

Now, before creating a table, you can assign a unique name to it, making your database organization more intuitive and efficient. This feature allows for better management and identification of tables, especially when dealing with multiple datasets.

Additionally, there is an option to add the prefix “wp_” to your table names if you prefer a more standardized naming convention. This flexibility ensures that you can maintain consistency across your database while keeping it well-organized and easily accessible. If you want more information, visit our documentation page.

Passing Placeholders through URL

The next great feature in wpDataTables 6.6 is Passing Placeholders through URL! This powerful enhancement allows you to filter tables and modify placeholders directly through the URL, making your work faster and more efficient.

Now, you can pass parameters in the URL to dynamically adjust table filters and placeholders, streamlining the process of sharing specific views or states of your tables. This added flexibility ensures that you can quickly adapt and manage your data presentation with ease. If you want more information, visit our documentation page and check for Passing Placeholders through URL.

Placeholders (loaders) for Tables and Chart

And one more thing you’ve been asking for is “Loaders/Placeholders” for tables and charts! These “loaders” are shown before the actual content loads, helping users see where the table or chart will appear. This improves page clarity and ensures users know where to expect data, enhancing the overall experience.

As the page loads, the placeholder provides a visual cue of where the table or chart will be located. We also plan to enhance the appearance of placeholders in future updates to better align with your site’s design.

And that’s not all—we have some exciting updates on loader customization coming soon. Stay tuned for more!

That’s all for now! We hope you’re as excited about these new features as we are. We’re always looking to improve and innovate. If you have any awesome ideas or suggestions, don’t hesitate to visit our Feature Suggestion Page — we’d love to hear from you. We will do our best to bring your ideas to life.

Thank you for being a part of the wpDataTables community. See you again soon! Until then, have a fantastic day!
