wpDataTables development plan for end of 2014

Hi, our beloved wpDataTables users 🙂 Today I would like to publish a brief plan/schedule of plugin development for the end of 2014, so you would know what awaits you in nearby future.

Main priority is to keep users of the plugin satisfied, and obtain new users of course – which, in general, means regular patching & bugfixing the software, developing new features, and providing support to the clients. Combining these is getting harder over time since the software grows, client base grows as well, and support starts consuming even more time then development; so here’s a short plan on what will be introduced and why sometimes during this time it can take some time to answer the support requests (I do understand that sometimes you have to wait on urgent matters, and I apologize about it). Of course, the plan is approximate, and the dates may change because quality is always more important then speed:

wpDataTables 1.5.3 released!

Hi everyone!

As usual, update started as a small patch/bugfix routine, but ended with a bunch of improvements, new features, and so on. Check out what’s new page of the site to see the full feature and fixes list!

Hurry to update your version – download the new release in your Downloads section on CodeCanyon, or purchase the plugin if you didn’t do so already 🙂

1.6 with even more is coming (relatively) soon!

Update procedure is described here.

wpDataTables FREE version!

Dowload a FREE version of wpDataTables right now on WordPress plugin repository: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wpdatatables/

This is a free basic version of wpDataTables Tables and Charts WordPress plugin. Some of the features available in the full version are cut, but wpDataTables is still quite a handy tool which will allow you to quickly create interactive tables from a number of sources: Excel, CSV, JSON, XML, Serialized PHP Array.

The interface and the instructions how to use it are absolutely same as for the full version of the plugin. Please see the documentation on how to create tables in WordPress from different data sources here.

We strongly recomment using wpDataTables Lite instead of downloading wpDataTables nulled and distribyte by any 3rd party resources. Nulled, cracked, 0day versions of wpDataTables were proven to contain malicious injections of code, backdoors which would compromise your site. So don’t put yourself at risk and download a completely legal and clean free version of wpDataTables

Current downloads number is 600 and counting! 🙂

Updates to wpDataTables!

We have two good news on wpDataTables!

First one is that we finally published a PDF version of documentation (will be included with the plugin from now on). It has more then 160 pages, and it explains all the plugins features with illustrations and in complete details.

Second one is an update (current version is 1.5.2), which introduces these features and fixes that many of you asked for:

How to create a product catalog in WordPress in a table

Not sure about the best way to create a product catalog in WordPress? Publishing your catalog and not sure how to do it better without any coding?

A lot of beginner developers get confused when they need publish a product table catalog, or price list: the HTML markup is confusing; some of them can do the markup, but aren’t satisfied with the look, or would like to have some solution which would be sortable, which could divide the data in pages, wouldn’t be too hard to update. Indeed: updating HTML table every time the product price changes, or when you add a new product, or when the quantity changes is frustrating.
